Taken from true life--not mine, but actual people I've met.
- If you are in the country illegally, don't tell your boss! He's obligated to report you--or fire you.
- If you are not supposed to go out with co-workers, but you are, shut up about it! No sense flaunting it.
- If your boss is a tight wad, and you get back at him by stopping for ice cream after taking his packages to FedEx, don't blab about it. You know what he's like!
- If you took a long lunch: just because it's nice, to go to the movies, or to catch some Zs; don't brag about it. If you brag, you'll get in trouble. If you smile, people can only wonder.
- If you Always include deluxe super lattes on your expense account and no one complains, shut up! No sense ruining it for yourself and everyone else too.
I'm not saying it's good to take advantage or do wrong. I'm just saying, "Don't be stupid!" And I wouldn't say that except that I've seen so many people do it over and over. Is it guilt? Is it a desire to show we're better than other people? I don't know, but it's got to stop. Please don't make me watch anyone else smack herself in the face with a bamboo pole! Ouch.
